Deanne Fitzmaurice was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 2005 for her photo story about an Iraqi boy who came to America for medical treatment. Deanne is a compassionate storyteller whose photographs have been appeared in numerous magazines including Time, Newsweek, and Sports Illustrated. She has also received awards from Pictures of the Year, Best of Photojournalism and was a finalist for the UNICEF Photo of the Year. Deanne has embraced multimedia and has had her stories aired on MSNBC. She worked as a photojournalist for the San Francisco Chronicle for 18 years before becoming an independent photographer. Deanne is a frequent lecturer throughout the country about photojournalism and multimedia as well as being a co-founder of Think Tank Photo Camera Bag Company.
