ImageSpan Adds Digital Content Tracker to its LicenseSream Creator Pro Service, Helping Subscribers Find and Convert Non-Paying Consumers of Digital Content into Paying Customers

LicenseStream Creator PRO Now Offers Tracking, Licensing in one Service, Empowering Content Owners and Creators to Make More Money from Their Digital Assets

NEW YORK, NY – October 23, 2008 — ImageSpan Inc., which provides a digital content licensing and billing settlement platform, today announced the addition of a new content tracker to its Web-based LicenseStream Creator PRO service, delivering the first service to offer both tracking and licensing to creators and owners of digital content. LicenseStream Creator PRO offers additional licensing, reporting and publishing flexibility and options to the standard LicenseStream service for photographers, videographers, illustrators and other providers of digital content.

The new tracker helps content creators find their digital content online, providing them with a view into where and how it is used. ImageSpan has also added automated options to convert non-paying content consumers into paying customers. This helps content creators obtain more value from their photos, video and other digital assets as they get distributed on the Web. Until today, tools this powerful were available only for large enterprises.

"Content creators and owners have long sought a combined service that provides visibility into where their content is going online, how it is being used, and then automates licensing and billing transactions to facilitate the flow of royalty payments," said Iain Scholnick, chief executive officer and president, ImageSpan. "With this new tracker feature, LicenseStream Creator PRO puts licensing and tracking control into the hands of content owners and creators, seamlessly helping them to pursue untapped opportunities for new licensing, advertising and distribution while providing a means to resolve potential infringement issues Internet-wide. The addition of this new tracker makes LicenseStream Creator PRO the complete solution."

LicenseStream Creator PRO enables subscribers to embed into their content’s metadata terms of use, including where the content can be used, for how long, in what geographies, etc. The new tracker continuously monitors billions of photographs, videos and other content on the Internet to locate a LicenseStream subscriber’s digital assets with high rates of accuracy. In instances where terms of use for content have been infringed, a subscriber can select from any number of automatically generated e-mail responses. These range from offering the opportunity to legally license the content, to requesting a link back to the content owner's site, inserting the content owner’s ad feed, sharing ad revenues or issuing a take-down request. The service monitors to see when action is taken and reports back to the content owner.

"It's a no-brainer for me to sign up for this new integrated service — it provides the support I need to track, market and to grow my business as a designer and provider of images," said Clement Mok, chief executive officer, Visual Symbols Library, who is widely recognized as a pioneer within the interactive marketing industry and the designer on the launch of the original Macintosh from Apple. "The ability to track content usage is a powerful idea. The addition makes LicenseStream Creator PRO a simple, flexible and invaluable tool and resource."

Today’s announcement was made at the PDN PhotoPlus Expo in New York.

ImageSpan AND WEVA Unveil New LicenseStream WEVA Portal, Along with Several New Features, at Wedding & Event Video Expo

ImageSpan Gives WEVA members a Digital Video and Photo Gallery and Request Forum and Now Provides All LicenseStream Users with Research Light Boxes, a Keyword Generator and Ability to Link to Their Public Gallery

ORLANDO, FLA – August 11, 2008 — ImageSpan Inc., which provides an enabling infrastructure for automated content licensing and billing, and Wedding & Event Videographers Association International (WEVA), the world's largest trade association for professional videographers, today unveiled a unique, new e-commerce portal called the WEVA LicenseStream Gallery. Designed for WEVA members, the new portal enables the nearly 10,000 WEVA and WEVA Latino members worldwide to easily license their digital video and photos locally, nationally and globally using LicenseStream, a new and simple-to-use content licensing service on the Web.

In addition, ImageSpan introduced many new value-added features available to all LicenseStream users, based on feedback from WEVA members and other prominent videographers and photographers. These new features include research light boxes, a keyword generator and the ability for any user to link to their own public gallery.

The public-facing WEVA LicenseStream Gallery provides a one-stop search and browse portal for all WEVA videos and photos uploaded to LicenseStream. To use the gallery features, clients can now register on LicenseStream and use the new portal without intervention from a WEVA member. However, if a client does not find the digital content searched for in the WEVA Gallery, the client can request the required video or photos via a new Request Forum and obtain the needed digital content from WEVA members directly.

"We are excited to unveil the new WEVA LicenseStream Gallery, which brings our intuitive, easy-to-use approach to content licensing to WEVA's huge membership of professional videographers," said Iain Scholnick, chief executive officer, ImageSpan. "Built specifically for WEVA members, we believe this gallery will become a community destination for anyone looking to find and license video clips."

Customized for WEVA members, the LicenseStream service will provide all members with ability to store their content, create licensing terms, review usage history, manage their licenses and track usage. WEVA members also gain access to all LicenseStream Pro features, which builds on ImageSpan's standard LicenseStream service to offer additional licensing, reporting and publishing flexibility and options.

"This exciting new service from ImageSpan provides videographers with an easy way to market, license and sell their digital videos and photos on a global scale," said WEVA International Chairman Roy Chapman. As an exclusive WEVA membership bonus, he added, "WEVA members will receive their own free LicenseStream account plus access to a customized e-commerce portal, which makes it possible for them to transact with buyers automatically, 24-hours a day. With LicenseStream, videographers and photographers can literally make money while they sleep."

ImageSpan also is rolling out a range of new features to benefit all LicenseStream users. The new features include:

  • Light Boxes: Videographers, photographers and other content providers now can create light boxes of content that can be shared with clients for review as part of a research or proof-sheet workflow.
  • Keyword Generator: A pop-up keyword generator now helps content providers apply words or phrases that Web surfers are likely to use when trying to find a specific type of video or photo. It also refines the process of entering custom keywords.
  • Gallery Naming: Users can now create a separate gallery name for their gallery URL, with a gallery title for the gallery page header.
  • Gallery Links and License Model: LicenseStream now provides users with a way to link to their public gallery, and users can choose the license model to appear on landing pages.

A robust and comprehensive digital content licensing and billing platform, LicenseStream provides unlimited video and still photo licensing, including standard and customizable licenses. These features allow a videographer to choose predefined licenses or define extensive licensing terms before putting content online, including geographic parameters, timeframe, purpose and fees. LicenseStream can process all aspects of the license, including billing, collections and royalty payments.

Industry-leading advertisers and media companies already are taking advantage of ImageSpan's licensing technology through CurbStream, an ImageSpan online service that provides access to WEVA members worldwide and streamlines the contracting process. WEVA members shoot local footage and upload the raw content via CurbStream's easy-to-use interface. ImageSpan then manages all licensing and sharing of content, ensuring that it is immediately rights-cleared and licensable for use.

WEVA members' access to LicenseStream offers benefits that would otherwise cost individual members hundreds if not thousands of dollars. For example, photographers have long relied on stock photo licensing to earn additional income. The LicenseStream service makes stock footage licensing for WEVA members a quick and easy process.

Today's announcement was made at the WEVA 18th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo in Orlando, Florida.
